"School's Out For Summer...."

WOO HOO!!! School is finally over! You would think, by my excitement, that I hated my job, but I actually love it. I had something happen today with one of my students that makes me love what I do. I have a student that LOVES the Price Is Right. It is the most important thing to him and he can tell you the year that he turns 18 and gets to go see the Price Is Right in person. Well, anyway, he has a book called "Come On Down". It is his pride and joy. He brings it everyday in his backpack and shows it for Show 'N' Tell every week. Today he walked up to me and handed me his "Come On Down" book. He said, "Alyson, you can have my price is right book". I almost started crying because that is probably one of the best compliments I have ever received in my life. You might think it is kind of silly, but if you knew actually how important it was to him you would understand. I had to double check about 100 times to make sure he was sure. He just kept saying, "Alyson gets the price is right book." He, of course, at the end of the day decided to take it home, but just knowing that he would let me have it for a few hours made me so happy. I absolutely love my kids!

Even though I love my kids and job I am ready for a break and am very excited for all my upcoming events. In case you are wondering here are my plans.....

sleeping in
lots of golfing
laying out at the pool
going to Denver
seeing Tim McGraw in concert
camping
probably taking a trip to the beach
and a whole lot of nothing!

Enjoy your summer and if you ever want to hang out I am available for 2 1/2 months!

"What Comes After the Blues"

"Ecstatic Two Thumbs Up"
If you haven't seen this weeks episode and don't want to know what happens I suggest not reading this. It was such a fabulous episode that I had to immediately review it. There were so many things that leave you hanging that I almost hate the show....but I really love it!
I went into this week hoping that Lucas would be with Peyton, but after last week I wasn't so sure. Lucas had told Peyton he hated her and she ruined his life! I was shocked. This week began with Lucas drowning out his sorrows and cutting his hair into a mohawk. Basically he had gone off the deep end. Nathan and Hailey came to the rescue and showed Lucas that being in the dark doesn't get you any answers. Peyton declared her love for Lucas by painting lyrics to love songs all over the river court. Lindsey came back to give Lucas back his book and tell him goodbye until she decided to call him and declare her love to him also. Brooke's baby had to go back home sooner than she was planning on and she was heart broken. Nathan faced his fear and decided that he was going to play ball again. As for Dan Scott....well lets just say that every time he came on the screen a pure hatred for him eminated from my body. He is just so full of evil and I can't help, but to hate him. As he was leaving the hospital I was predicting a "mean girls bus move", but my prediction failed. He was hit by a car instead and was laying unconcious (or dead) as his heart transplant pager was beeping. It ended with Lucas at the airport calling "someone" and telling them he had two tickets to Vegas to get married. There were three girls that answered their phones all at the same times....Peyton, Lindsey, and Brooke! Who will it be? I don't know if I can wait until the new season! They just hook you and then leave you wanting more, more, more! I can't wait for the new season!!!

The Truth About Tabacco

(Must Have Been A Typo)

How many of you have seen these commercials? It has been a while since I have seen them, but then I saw the "typo" one tonight and thought I would post them. I think that they are so funny and, trust me, they get stuck in your head forever!

Blaze Game

Rachel had some free tickets to the Utah Blaze game tonight. We went and took Cooper and Sophie with us. Tim and Kara kept warning us that Sophie won't want to sit still....but it was actually Cooper that was ready to leave once his churro was finished!

Cooper and Rach enjoying the game. (This picture was taken immediately after the churro)

Sophie enjoying her hot dog and the game. She loved it! She sat in her seat the entire time and cheered and clapped. I think she liked the bonding time.

This is Cooper about ten minutes after his churro was gone...."Rach, can we go home yet?"

On our way out we saw the trax train....so we decided to go for a little ride.

This was by far Cooper's favorite part! Who doesn't love a good train ride???

"Hate is Safer Than Love"

"Two Enthusiastic Thumbs Up"

I know it has been a few days since this weeks episode, but I thought I would still post. This week was excellent. This is the kind of "One Tree Hill" I am looking for. Nathan and Lucas have apparently not forgiven Dan for killing Keith. Even with the news that he is dying he is "already dead" to them. Dan was pissed! I don't know if it is because his plan didn't work or if he is mad at himself for ruining his own life. I guess we will have to find out on that one.
What does Peyton think she is doing??? Going to get Lindsey to come back to Lucas. I am glad that Lindsey told Peyton to go read the story because now we can get back to the way things should be with Lucas and Peyton. I think Brooke is going to fall in love with the doctor and way to go Marvin!! Your first real big shot at television and you didn't totally screw it up. I can't wait for next week....looks like it might be a little "steamy".

Double Dutch Anyone???

Tonight we went to Dale and Elizabeth's house for Samantha's birthday party. They pulled out the jump ropes and we all went back in time. Shane and I rocked the jump ropes! All we needed was some good old school music and we were set. I loved this activity as a child and I still love it. My mom even tried and did really well. I do own a couple long ropes myself so if you are up for some double dutch fun, give me a call.

Shane and I duel jumping. We tried several different moves: turning around, jumping one footed, alternating feet, shaking hands, etc. I wanted to do "Say Say my Playmate", but Shane kept crying about not knowing how to do it. It was definitely a good time.

Superman Sophie

I went to my sister Kara's house today to hang with her and the kids. Sophie and I decided to play Superman. Here is a picture of her flying. She loved every second of it and wanted to do it over and over again. My nieces and nephew are so cute!
