Girls Night Out.....Or In

It's that time again.....Girls Night Out with some friends. Once a month I get together with some friends from college. They of course are all married (some with kids) and need a night away so we get together and hang out. This time they came up to my house. We ate dinner, hung out, and played Loaded Questions (Adult Version). The hot tub was out of commission so unfortunately we didn't make it in. It's always fun getting together with the girls. We missed Val, Angie, and Heather.

By Popular Request....

So a few of my faithful viewers requested to see some more of my artwork. Since I have only been at my new hobby a short time there are just a few paintings. Here they are!

This was originally just brown. Tim suggested that I add orange to the picture and I like it.

I am still deciding if I like this one. Not quite sure.

I do really like this one though.

Oscars 2008

I was able to attend and Oscar Party last night at Rachel's house. I love the Oscars and look forward to them each year. In the past I have been able to see most of the movies up for nomination, but this year I only saw one or two. For those of you that missed out on this wonderful event.....here are a few of the winners.

Daniel Day Lewis-Best Actor for There Will Be Blood

Juno - Best Original Screen Play

Marion Cotillard- Best Actress- La Vie En Rose

No Country for Old Men (The Cohen Brothers)- Best Director/Best Picture

**I would have loved to see Juno win more because I absolutely loved the movie, but unfortunately it didn't. :(

Road Trip!!!

Kara, Kristen, Cooper, Sophie, and I all hopped in the mini van and road tripped it down to the small town of Ephraim. This isn't exactly the road tirp you are all thinking of, but it was still a 2 hour drive so we considered it a road trip. We drove down to go to my cousin Andrew's wedding reception. I didn't take my camera in to the reception so these are all the pictures you are going to get.

Kara and Kristen....don't worry we are stopped at a red light!

Izzie got a new rock!

For those of you that don't know I have a lizzard named Izzie. I decided that he needed a change in his atmosphere so I bought him a new rock. I wasn't sure if he would fit under it, but it looks like he does and I think he likes it.

You can kind of see him hiding underneath the rock. His tail is extremely fat these past few days because he has had some great cricket meals. Yum!

My New Hobby....

I have decided to become an artist of some sort. This is my most recent painting even though it is not quite done. I have to add another coat of paint, but you get the idea. I am really into painting shapes (probably because it is really easy). I have painted a few other ones and I can't decide which one I like the best.

Twilight Nightmares

Everyone has heard all the hype about these novels, right? I have heard nothing, but good things about Twilight and the two books to follow. You hear about how "Edward is so handsome and breathtaking", "the book is so good that you don't want to put it down", "You will read forever and ever!" What they all fail to tell you is that you may (actually will) experience the most horrific nightmares of you life! I began reading this lovely novel last night and I do have to say that I was immediately sucked in. I had only read the first two chapters and decided that I needed to put it down and go to sleep. Once I fell asleep I had the most horrible nightmares ever! I thought I would be okay and be able to handle it because I love scary movies and mysteries, but all I dreamt about were these vampires attacking my family and sucking their blood. It was horrible! I am going to keep reading because I am intrigued, but wish me luck and hope that I don't have too many more vampire nightmares.

Yeah!!!

Well, now that I have finally joined the blogging world I thought I would join the technology world as well. I have purchased a new laptop computer. I am so excited!!! I love to buy new things! Here is a picture of my new computer (Sorry, Rand, it's not a Mac)

Sunday Popcorn....

Who doesn't love a nice big bowl of Sunday popcorn???? If you are a Denny or are associated with a Denny you know just what I am talking about. We use to go over to Grandma and Grandpa Denny's house on Sundays and guess what would be sitting there.....popcorn. You now almost can't go to a Denny Family Function without a tub of popcorn. It is fantastic! I do have to say (and most would agree with me) it is better on Monday.

Enjoying my popcorn!

Kara loves it too!!

Stag Prom 2008

There is nothing like prom when you are 25 years old! Saturday night my roommates and I hosted Stag Prom 2008. We wanted to throw a Valentine's Day party and we decided to make prom the theme. We had fabulous dancing (including classic slow songs), punch and cookies, and a photo corner. Everyone got in their best prom gear and danced all night long. It was a great night!

Rachel and Jen dancing the night away.

Cousin Matt even showed up!

My First Official Post

Well, I finally decided to take up the world of blogging and create my own personal blog. What a better way to look into the life of Alyson, right? I've participated in other blogs, but have never had one of my own so here I go. Enjoy!
