A Day At The Park

Today I went with my mom, Cooper, and Sophie to Liberty Park. The kids played in the sprinkler things and on the toys. They sure did wear me out though....especially Sophie....she was running all over the place and it is a pretty big park. The kids had fun though and we even went to see the geese! I think that was the best part for them.

Sophie was "itchy" on the bridge

Laying out on the towels after a bit of fun in the sprinklers.

This was a house that the kids found near the end of the adventure.

Sophie loved swinging the most!

Pool Time

All of you that know me know that I love the pool. On Sunday I had asked my nephew Cooper when we were going swimming. He turned to me and said, " Ummm, Wednesday!" Well, today was Wednesday so we went swimming. We went to the Bountiful Rec Center. This was a first for all of us and it was fabulous. The pool was amazing. Here are a few pictures....

Denver

Well, I just arrived home from a vacation to Denver. Rach went for a conference so I tagged along for a vacation. I love the city of Denver. It was very lively and quite enjoyable. If you ever have a chance to go do it. Here are a few pics from the trip.
The first night there we went to Dave and Buster's. We won enough tickets playing the arcades to get 4 jelly bracelets a piece. Here I am displaying mine!

We were able to play the lotto.....Powerball and Scratchers. We didn't win on either, but it was still fun playing.

We found a sushi restaurant called Chopsticks and Sushi at the 16th street mall. It was very delicious and the 16th street mall is quite a happenin' place.

Probably one of the best things we found was this amazing gas station.....they had their very own milkshake machine plus many other amazing items.....slushy bar, smoothie machine, every fountain soda you could wish for, energy shots for your fountain sodas, coffee bar, and a post office.

We went and saw the Rockies play against the Giants. We left after the 7th inning stretch because it was FREEZING and it was tied 0 to 0.

We also went to Botanical Gardens. It was absolutely beautiful. I would love any part of this place to be my backyard without having to do all the work.

This is under the entrance into the Japanese Gardens located at Botanical Gardens.

This is us standing in front of our rental car. We drove a Chrysler Aspen....it was such a nice car so we thought we would take a picture with it. You can't see it very well though.

Today we went to the Denver Art Museum. Surrounding the museum are these hugh art sculptures. This is the gigantic chair.

This is Rach next to the gigantic broom and dustpan. Can you see her? She is very tiny.

My New Show Obsession

For those of you who know us Willey's know that we sometimes become obsessed over things. Well I have a new obsession....Army Wives on Lifetime. My roommate, Miriam, suggested one day that we watch season 1 online. We tried to watch it while we were laying out next to the hot tub, but it was too sunny to see the screen. We ended up not watching it and recently (yesterday) I decided to give it a shot. I saw a brief part of an episode on Lifetime and it looked good. I watched the first 2 episodes on Saturday and was quickly sucked in. Today I finished watching all 13 episodes. I know that is kind of lame, but I couldn't help myself! It is such a good show. I even cried in several episodes (another Willey trait). Season 2 premiered tonight, but I didn't get to see it because I was still finishing season 1. I can't wait for the rerun!!!

Last Hurrah.....

Tomorrow is my sister, Kristen's, Wedding day. We decided to have one last luncheon before she takes the plunge. We headed over to Chili's in Centerville and ate, ate, and ate some more.

Sophie loved her corn!

Cooper and Sophie were quite the picture takers!

"School's Out For Summer...."

WOO HOO!!! School is finally over! You would think, by my excitement, that I hated my job, but I actually love it. I had something happen today with one of my students that makes me love what I do. I have a student that LOVES the Price Is Right. It is the most important thing to him and he can tell you the year that he turns 18 and gets to go see the Price Is Right in person. Well, anyway, he has a book called "Come On Down". It is his pride and joy. He brings it everyday in his backpack and shows it for Show 'N' Tell every week. Today he walked up to me and handed me his "Come On Down" book. He said, "Alyson, you can have my price is right book". I almost started crying because that is probably one of the best compliments I have ever received in my life. You might think it is kind of silly, but if you knew actually how important it was to him you would understand. I had to double check about 100 times to make sure he was sure. He just kept saying, "Alyson gets the price is right book." He, of course, at the end of the day decided to take it home, but just knowing that he would let me have it for a few hours made me so happy. I absolutely love my kids!

Even though I love my kids and job I am ready for a break and am very excited for all my upcoming events. In case you are wondering here are my plans.....

sleeping in
lots of golfing
laying out at the pool
going to Denver
seeing Tim McGraw in concert
camping
probably taking a trip to the beach
and a whole lot of nothing!

Enjoy your summer and if you ever want to hang out I am available for 2 1/2 months!
