As we started our demolition, I thought about what kinds of things we may discover. I fully expected to find knob and tube wiring, maybe some water damaged flooring underneath the carpets, and other unexpected surprises. We found the wiring on the first day, but my first actual surprise came when I started tearing into the wall of the large bathroom.
As I was pulling lathe and plaster out of the walls, there was a sound
that I can only describe as money falling out of the walls. When I
looked closer it was actually used razors, and there were tons of them.
It finally explained the slot in the mirror in the pink bathroom that I
had been wondering about.

The Pink Bathroom is Going
Everyone has always talked about "The Pink Bathroom." I've seen lots of bathrooms with pink in them. The home I grew up in even had some pink in one of its bathrooms. But a bathroom with THIS MUCH PINK, so much that everyone knows what room you're talking about when you say "The Pink Bathroom," is unique.

It took Pam months to find this gem
So, this is how everyone remembers the Pink Bathroom. Now, let's see how it is transforming.

These construction photos are the first of many. This was after the first day of demo work. Progress in the bathroom was kind of slow because we had to work around plumbing and electrical issues, but we hope that things will pick up speed as we move into other rooms. Stay tuned for more photos and discoveries as we move along!

Our home in the beginning
Alyson and I are excited to be embarking on a massive project to remodel our home in Bountiful. It is going to be a long project, where we will both be learning a lot. While no home improvement project goes exactly according to plan, hopefully we'll be able to adapt.
The basic blueprint above was generated from a program we downloaded to give us an idea what the current floor plan looks like. From there we've designed what we expect will be a big improvement for us and our needs. Stay tuned for pictures and updates on the progress!

Journey
Last Thursday Nick and I went to the Journey concert. We went with my two sisters, Kara and Kristen, and their husbands, Tim and Shane. Tim and Shane didn't seem to enjoy themselves, but the rest of us loved it! Here are a few pics from the night.
Waiting and feeling like sardines. They zip tied the chairs together so basically we were sitting on top of each other.
Waiting for Night Ranger

Don't Tim and Shane look captivated by the concert?
Journey must have just come on stage. A little more excitement.

Kara trying to play air guitar. Shane not enjoying himself.

Kara still "air guitaring."
I tried uploading a video, but Blogger wouldn't work. Sorry, you can't enjoy "Don't Stop Believing". It was a great concert and some great company.

Turks and Caicos
For our honeymoon Nick surprised me with a trip to Turks and Caicos. It was beautiful!
Club Med
We spent most of our time laying and reading by the pool.
We had to hang out in the shade to get some relief from the heat.
We floated in the ocean.
Beautiful view
Add caption
Hanging out in the cabana at night
The champagne fountain to say "thank you" at the end of the week
A little dancing
We took a 1/2 hour sailing lesson and the next day they trusted us out by ourselves. It was awesome.
One of the "Dirty Dancing" Shows
Another show
This was the huge rain storm we had just as we got back in from sailing.
Played a little pool. I totally beat Nick!
It was so relaxing and we had a great time.
