Kelly Clarkson in Concert

Last Thursday I went to see Kelly Clarkson in concert. I know MOST people made fun of us for going, but I enjoy her music and she sounds amazing live. It was a great time despite the rain.

Miriam, Me, and Rach before the rain started
We were kind of far away, but she is that neon green person mid-stage.

Reonia, Miriam, Me, Rachel, Rebekah, and Relissa sporting our ponchos. I didn't every become a monsoon, but it did rain for quite a while so the ponchos were a great investment. Thanks Rach for picking them up for us!

1st Activity of My Summer Vacation

Yesterday was my first official day of my summer vacation. I called up my sister to see if she wanted to go to the zoo with all the kids. We tried to get to the zoo, but unfortunately it never stopped raining so we headed down to the Children's Museum. It was just as exciting!

In the car on the way to the zoo. The kids were SO excited!!

Kara and Sophie with the balls.
Cooper dressed as the mailman.....it was missing a button! LOL!

Lauren playing at the water exhibit.

Morgan building a farm fence in the play house.

Sophie waiting at the checkout counter....do you think that's how Kara stands when she checks out with her groceries?

Cooper taking us on a road trip....we had to stop for gas!

Thanks for the fun trip kiddies and Kara!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend I headed down to St. George for the weekend with a couple of friends. Rachel, Bobbie, and I had a great time playing golf, shopping, laying by the lake, playing tennis, going to The One and Only, and just plain relaxing. Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Standing in front of the Nephi Golf Course....they loved us! The guy said that next time we came back they would throw us a party. Love the small towns!

Teeing off on hole #6 (I think). Pretty sure I drove that one to the green!!
We had to make a pit stop to sit in the Giant Chair at the Chevron. Who knew they had giant rocking chairs at gas stations?
Wasting time while we wait to eat at The Pizza Factory.....What else do you use a phone booth for other than making a call on your CELL phone?
Rachel found some inspiration.
Bobbie and I didn't buy anything shopping, but Rachel sure did! A Cowboy fanny pack of course...you have to have one of those.

Dinner at Samauri Steakhouse with a couple of friends. Not to mention I met my sugar daddy who sat at the table with us! Sorry, no pic of him.

Laying by the lake. It took us forever to find our way to Sand Hollow and we didn't even make it. Some how we wound up at Quail Creek. Needless to say, it was a lake and that's all that mattered.

We had a fabulous time....Thanks to Rachel's aunt for letting us stay in her house!

Nascar 2009

Last weekend I headed down to Phoenix to visit some friends and hit up the Nascar race. It was definitely quite the experience. We were able to go on a tour of the garages, pit row, see the drivers up close and personal (I'm all about seeing celebrities even if they are Nascar celebrities), watch the driver introductions, and see a few laps from the top of the Sprint tower. I have to say that before this I wasn't extremely interested in Nascar, but I quite like it now.

Miriam suggested that I try the AMAZING gas station located in Phoenix. We made a stop at QT on the way to the race. I totally concur with Miriam....it was AMAZING!!!

Fixing something with the tires on the UPS car. We were able to see them working on the cars and getting them up to par for the race regulations. It was pretty awesome.

When we first got our picture with this girl, Erin and I were so confused......we had no idea why we were taking a picture with her. Later we found out she was Miss Sprint Cup. Who knew they had a Miss Sprint Cup?

Inside of one of the cars.....pretty complex to me.

This is Rachel's driver....had to get a picture with his car. For those of you who don't know who number 48 is.....Jimmie Johnson.

Jeff Gordon was my driver. Here I am standing in front of his pit.

Here's Jeff Gordon at driver introductions. Unfortunately he had some misfortunes with his car and didn't win the race.

Cam, Colt, and I watching the race. And to everyone that thinks Nascar is WT....it definitely still is after seeing it in person, but it was very fun and quite enjoyable.

California 2009

This past week Kara, Cooper, Sophie, and I went to California. Thanks to Rand and Bradley we had a wonderful place to stay. The weather was beautiful and we had tons of fun. I took tons of pictures and didn't want to post them individually so I made collages to post instead. Picasa is AMAZING!!!

Hollywood Boulevard, Santa Monica Pier, Third Street Promenade, and the beach in Carlsbad were some of the places we went to. We, of course, had to make a stop at Pinkberry as well. Cooper loved taking his picture with Batman, but Sophie wouldn't even consider it. "They were all too scary!!"
We played at the beach one of the days. I spent another day at the beach while Kara and the kids went to visit her friend Angie. I love the beach!

We walked the canals in Venice which are awesome. There are so many amazing, yet expensive, houses there. Plus a few random pictures of the airplane/car.

The Butterfly Jungle at the Wild Animal Park. This was probably my favorite part. It was this big jungle like thing with butterflies everywhere. They would land on you and just hang out. One of the workers said that they are attracted to the smell of beer and we saw many people with butterflies on their lips. It was pretty awesome!!

ICP

So now you are probably wondering...."Who is Insane Clown Posse?"....well you're in luck. I happen to find a VIDEO so you could check them out.

P.S. If you don't want to hear bad language, turn it off before you get to the chorus.

Ice and Hammer

So I'm sure most of you attended as well, but last weekend I went and saw MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice in concert with my sisters. Wow!!! I think Kara, Kristen, and I decided we are very old because by the time Hammer came on at 11:45 we were ready to go home.

Vanilla Ice was way better than MC Hammer. I did turn to Kara at one point and tell her that I felt like I was at an ICP concert. Then about 15 minutes later Kristen turned to Kara and said, "Doesn't this remind you of Insane Clown Posse?" So basically what that means is Vanilla Ice was definitely trying to be ICP.

We were so BORED by the time MC Hammer came on and he was so BORING himself. He took about 45 minutes to come onto stage (did I mention he didn't even have a stage to set up) and then he would do a song and then leave stage for what seemed like forever. He would come back on, do another 4 minute song (that no one knew), then go off stage for another 10 minutes while the dancers regrouped. We lasted 4 songs and left about 11:45. We decided that our sleep was much more important.
